I am Balqees Shaheen, a gender specialist, climate advocate, and youth trainer with a passion for social change. I hold a Higher Diploma in Gender Equality Studies and Training from the University of Iceland and am completing my Master’s in Gender and Development Studies.
 
I have actively represented Palestinian women’s issues at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, highlighting critical challenges to officials and special rapporteurs. I have also participated in COP as a youth delegate, focusing on climate action and sustainability.
 
As a member of the Palestinian Youth Climate Negotiations Team, I work on youth-led initiatives and research for environmental resilience. My goal is to empower young people to drive meaningful change and promote equality, resilience, and sustainable development in Palestine.
