Mohamed Shaker, du ministre de l\u2019enseignement sup\u00e9rieur et de la recherche scientifique, M. Khalid Abdul Ghaffar, du pr\u00e9sident de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie de la recherche scientifique et technologique, M. Mahmoud Sakr, et d\u2019un certain nombre d\u2019ambassadeurs des \u00c9tats membres de l\u2019UE, a inaugur\u00e9 mardi le projet \u00ab Applications multifonctionnelles du solaire thermodynamique \u00bb (Multipurpose Applications by Thermodynamic Solar \u2013 MATS) \u00e0 Borg El Arab, \u00e0 Alexandrie.<\/p>\n<p>Le projet MATS, cofinanc\u00e9 par l\u2019Union europ\u00e9enne, est un centre de recherche et une centrale solaire polyvalente unique en son genre, dont l\u2019objectif est d\u2019identifier et d\u2019exploiter les technologies appropri\u00e9es qui permettent d\u2019int\u00e9grer facilement l\u2019\u00e9nergie solaire dans le syst\u00e8me \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique actuel et de garantir un approvisionnement stable aux consommateurs.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Nous devons relever un certain nombre de d\u00e9fis, tant en Europe qu\u2019en \u00c9gypte, tels que la rar\u00e9faction des ressources, les besoins \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques croissants et le changement climatique. L\u2019UE a pour objectif de r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions d\u2019au moins 40 % et de produire 27 % d\u2019\u00e9nergie \u00e0 partir de sources renouvelables d\u2019ici 2030. Il s\u2019agit de l\u2019un des objectifs les plus ambitieux pour parvenir \u00e0 un syst\u00e8me \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique plus durable \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 l\u2019ambassadeur Surko\u0161. \u00ab Il existe \u00e9galement des facteurs fondamentaux qui incitent l\u2019\u00c9gypte \u00e0 s\u2019orienter davantage vers la production d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 \u00e0 partir de sources d\u2019\u00e9nergie renouvelables. L\u2019\u00c9gypte jouit d\u2019un excellent potentiel solaire.
