EU Ambassador to Libya Alan Bugeja has published the following statement on the Delegation’s Facebook page:
I am concerned by the arrest and arbitrary detention of peace activist Mr. Khaled Al-Sakran in Benghazi and call on the relevant authorities to respect his fundamental rights and freedoms and the rule of law. This demands that he promptly face judicial process or be immediately released.
We continue to follow all cases of violations against activists and members of civil society in Libya.
