The EU High Representative for foreign affairs Federica Mogherini yesterday held a phone conversation with the Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov on the situation in Aleppo, Syria.
Mogherini discussed with Minister Lavrov the need to act with a sense of urgency to respond to the growing humanitarian tragedy unfolding in Aleppo.
To this end, they discussed the EU emergency humanitarian initiative for Aleppo. They agreed that everything possible will be done to facilitate the implementation of this humanitarian initiative.
