AQABA, Jordan – May 2026. As part of the international conference “Education for Future: Careers of the Future”, held in Aqaba, Jordan, Dr Omar Suleiman Arabiyat presented the DigitalLife4ALL – Digital Life for All project, highlighting its contribution to inclusive digital transformation, lifelong learning and future-oriented skills.
The presentation took place during the second day of the conference, in the specialised session titled “Educational Platforms as a Bridge between Education and Future Technologies”, Dr. Arabiyat, Dean of Al-Salt Technical College and Project Manager in Jordan, introduced DigitalLife4ALL as a regional initiative implemented by Al-Balqa Applied University as the Jordanian partner. DigitalLife4ALL is co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme. The project aims to build an integrated model for strengthening digital skills, lifelong learning and employability, with a particular focus on social inclusion for seniors, older adults, women, people with disabilities and vulnerable social groups across the Mediterranean.
During his presentation, Dr. Arabiyat explained that the project runs for 30 months, from July 2025 to January 2028, with a total budget of approximately €2.8 million and an EU contribution of 89%. The project brings together academic and development partners from Greece, Cyprus, Lebanon, Tunisia, Türkiye and Jordan. The session included contributions from regional experts in digital education and educational platforms. Discussions focused on how open learning platforms can reduce the digital divide, support flexible learning pathways and strengthen institutional partnerships to ensure the sustainability of training programmes beyond the period of EU funding.
Through its participation in the conference, Al-Balqa Applied University reaffirmed its role in promoting applied education, community outreach and inclusive access to digital learning in Jordan and across the Mediterranean. DigitalLife4ALL will continue to develop regional training frameworks, accessible learning materials and field-based activities targeting different communities in Jordanian governorates.
