Throughout February, EU Jeel Connectors across Algeria, Egypt, and Morocco organised a series of activities focused on youth empowerment, sustainability, entrepreneurship, communication skills, and international opportunities. Through workshops, discussions, and interactive learning experiences, young people gained practical tools to support their personal and professional development while discovering pathways offered by EU programmes.
On 12 February, EU Jeel Connector Nedjla Khelfa Sahel organised the online workshop “Mastering the Momentum: Your Guide to Goal Setting & Time Management.” Participants explored practical strategies to set meaningful goals, manage their time effectively, and build sustainable productivity habits. Through guided exercises and reflections, the session encouraged young people to transform their ambitions into concrete action while highlighting an EU-funded initiative supporting youth empowerment in Algeria.
On 13 February in Algiers, EU Jeel Connectors Naima Boukhiar, Nassim Berdaoui, and Ichrak Boudaoud organised “Application Hacks: Algiers Edition.” Designed for students and early-career researchers, the workshop provided practical guidance on strengthening applications, exploring funding opportunities, and navigating research and innovation pathways. Participants also learned about Erasmus+ opportunities and mobility programmes supporting academic and professional development.
Also on 13 February, EU Jeel Connector Mina Fangari organised “NEXUS: Weave Your Future” in Alexandria. Held in partnership with Empower Hub, ShePinnacle, and Prodigy, the event combined interactive games and workshops to introduce participants to the Sustainable Development Goals and green entrepreneurship. Young people were also introduced to opportunities such as Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps, encouraging greater engagement in sustainability and social impact initiatives.
On 14 February, EU Jeel Connectors Racim Salem-Bokhtache and Naila Betouche organised “Sustainable Investment & Eco-Entrepreneurship,” an interactive session exploring the role of finance in driving environmental and social change. Through collaborative activities and debates, participants developed innovative ideas while learning about responsible business practices and Erasmus+ opportunities related to sustainability and entrepreneurship.
On 17 February in Blida, EU Jeel Connector Nassim Berdaoui organised “Master Your Pitch, Own the Room,” a workshop dedicated to effective communication and public speaking. Through practical simulations and hands-on exercises, participants strengthened their ability to present ideas with confidence and clarity. The session also introduced the EU-supported EcoEquity Hackathon, encouraging engagement in innovation and sustainability initiatives.
Also on 17 February, EU Jeel Connector Mariam Helmy Mostafa organised “AAST Youth Sustainability Day” at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Alexandria. Bringing together young participants for a full day of discussions and networking, the event featured panels on climate action, green entrepreneurship, the blue economy, plastic waste, and sustainable resource management. Participants also discovered opportunities linked to regional cooperation through programmes such as Interreg NEXT MED.
On 22 February in Tetouan, EU Jeel Connector Youssef El Amrani organised “What’s Beyond Our Horizon: Opportunities Under Your Nose,” an interactive session introducing young people to international academic, professional, and volunteering opportunities. Through open discussions and real-life examples, participants explored pathways offered by programmes such as Erasmus+, Erasmus Mundus, and the European Solidarity Corps, helping them identify new opportunities for mobility, learning, and engagement.
From goal setting and communication skills to sustainability, entrepreneurship, and international mobility, February’s activities showcased the diversity of EU Jeel Connect initiatives across the region. By creating spaces for learning, exchange, and discovery, Connectors continue to empower young people and connect them with opportunities to develop their skills, broaden their horizons, and shape their future.
