Across Egypt, Libya, and Morocco, EU Jeel Connectors kicked off the year with a series of inspiring initiatives, bringing young people together to explore key topics such as mental health, education, life skills, and digital responsibility.

Empowering Youth in Egypt

On 15 January in Cairo, EU Jeel Connector Yussuf Amir launched “Noctua: The Mental Health Initiative” with an opening session titled Noctua Rising.
The event created a space for discussions on mental health, resilience, and personal development, featuring contributions from fellow Connector Yara Hesham, as well as coaches and youth leaders. Participants were also introduced to EU opportunities, including Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps.

Rethinking Education in Libya

Marking the International Day of Education on 24 January, EU Jeel Connector Malak Issa Ali organised “Learning Beyond Classroom” in Tripoli.
Through interactive discussions, participants explored the importance of life skills and non-formal learning, addressing gaps between academic education and real-life needs such as communication, mental health, and youth empowerment. The session also highlighted EU priorities in education and opportunities like Erasmus+.

Building Skills Across Borders

On 25 January, EU Jeel Connectors Moujahid Louzi, Mohamed Ramy, and Reda Ben Mbarak hosted the online workshop “Life Skills Masterclass: Unlocking Success & Sustainable Resilience.”
The session focused on communication, confidence, and adaptability, offering participants practical tools for personal and professional development, while connecting them to EU programmes and traineeship opportunities.

Exploring AI Ethics in Morocco

Closing the month on 31 January, EU Jeel Connector Youssef Stelate organised an online workshop on “AI Ethics & Data Protection.”
Through case studies and discussions, participants examined key principles such as transparency, fairness, and data protection, while comparing European frameworks like the GDPR with national legislation. The session also linked digital skills development to EU-supported opportunities.
