The EU Representative in Palestine Alexandre Stutzmann visited key EU-funded projects and met with key actors in the Old City of Jerusalem, including Burj Al Luqluq’s Director, the Vice President of Al Quds University Jerusalem Campus, UNHABITAT representatives, the Custody of the Holy Land, and the Palestine for Development Foundation.
The discussions addressed the critical political, economic, and cultural issues facing East Jerusalem, which have significantly impacted the lives of thousands of Palestinians. The aim was to revive cultural heritage and promote economic growth.
The visit also included stops at historic and cultural sites such as Hammam Al Ein, Souk Al Qattanin, and Dar Al Consul, showcasing East Jerusalem’s rich heritage and vibrant community.
The European East Jerusalem Programme supports the development of a vibrant and diverse civil society in East Jerusalem and is committed to supporting local initiatives and enhancing the future of this remarkable city.
