On 25 September, the European Union Delegation to Algeria and UNICEF Algeria organised a working meeting with their cooperation partners to assess progress on the country’s child rights agenda. Dr. Ghassan Khalil, international expert and UNICEF Representative in Greece, presented regional and international child rights frameworks, shared European experiences—particularly those of the Child Rights Centre in Greece—and commended the progress achieved with Algerian institutions. The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on ways to strengthen a child-rights-based approach in development cooperation and to accelerate the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in Algeria.
