On Wednesday, 20 May 2026, the MED-GEM Network participated in the second CBAM Info Session held in Amman, in partnership with the European Union in JordanEuroCham Jordan and the Amman Chamber of Industry. The session brought together public and private sector stakeholders to discuss the latest developments related to the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), with a particular focus on the recently released fertilizers action plan, CBAM calculation methodologies, verification pathways, and Jordan’s industrial exposure to the new regulatory framework.

Representing the MED-GEM Network, Bandaly El-Issa presented the Network’s ongoing and upcoming technical assistance activities in Jordan. These include two strategic studies currently under preparation: a policy roadmap for the integration of green ammonia within Jordan’s fertilizers industry, and an impact assessment examining the implications of CBAM on Jordanian industries.
