Team Europe visited East Alexandria wastewater treatment plant. The project, funded by AFD, aims to build a sludge treatment unit, making it the first in Egypt outside of Cairo. Ambassador Berger said this plant represents a concerted effort by the EU and its member states to support Egypt in enhancing its water security and management.
Team Europe also held extensive discussions today with the Governor of Alexandria General Mohamed El Sherif on climate challenges facing the Mediterranean city. They also reviewed ongoing and future cooperation, notably green transportation and waste water treatment.
