A delegation of five members of the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, chaired by MEP Jo Leinen, visited Tunisia from 16 to 18 July 2018. During this mission, the deputies met with members of the executive, parliamentarians and representatives of civil society.
These meetings allowed for fruitful exchanges where the deputies were able to inquire about the state of progress of the consolidation of the democratic transition and to evoke the political, economic and social situation of the country as well as the security and stability of the region.
This visit is part of the desire of the members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament to consolidate a political dialogue with Tunisia as a privileged partner of the European Union.
