Yemen Jordan: MEDISS desalination plant makes significant progress
MEDISS Jordanian partner, the Aqaba Water Company, is proceeding with the desalination plant for the Well of Risha, in Wadi Araba, in the pilot site of Aqaba Governorate.
This innovative system will be applied to the desalination plant of brackish groundwater, extending the membrane’s lifetime with inventive treatments and using renewable energy sources for energy supply, contributing significantly to address water scarcity problems in the area.
MEDISS project, ‘Mediterranean Integrated System for Water Supply’, addresses the issue of improving the quality of saline groundwater in the Mediterranean area, opening alternative irrigation options for higher quality and more diversified cultivations (dates, citrus, etc.).
