On 15 April 2021, King Mohammed VI presided over the launch ceremony for the generalisation of social protection: This is a decisive step in the development of this reform, which the European Union has supported for more than a decade.
The challenge of the EU-Morocco partnership is to offer, in a human rights-based approach, the best service to the beneficiaries. In response to the covid-19 pandemic, the European Union has mobilized all the levers of its support for social protection in Morocco to accompany the measures taken by the Kingdom to address the crisis.
In addition, the European Union also supports many civil society projects for the promotion of social services and the protection of rights for the benefit of children, persons with disabilities and more generally vulnerable populations.
