Yemen Supported by the EU Coordination Office for Palestinian Police Support (EUPOL COPPS), Ministry of Justice managers meet to plan for the future
The senior management from the Palestinian Ministry of Justice met for a two-day workshop on 27-28 February 2020 in Jericho to discuss the Ministry’s strategy and how it will be implemented until the end of 2022. The event, which was financed and supported by EUPOL COPPS, gave the Minister of Justice and his 30 most senior managers the opportunity to discuss at length how the Ministry could achieve the objectives it has set itself, the role of the Ministry in the overall justice sector in Palestine and in particular, its role in promoting and protecting human rights.
Minister of Justice Dr. Mohammad Shalaldeh underlined the importance of meeting and exceeding public expectations in terms of service delivery, enhancing the way the Ministry responds to complaints as well as the centrality of human rights to the work of the Ministry. Among the ideas the Minister put forward for discussion was a mobile legal clinic for human rights, which could travel around Palestine and meet the needs of citizens, in particular vulnerable people.
