Representatives of the European Council in Tunisia met on 11 December a delegation from the National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT), headed by the Union’s new president Mr. Mahdi Jlassi.
During this first meeting of courtesy and exchange, the head of media programmes at the Council of Europe, Mrs Roberta Battista, reiterated the Council’s support to the local partners’ efforts to promote quality journalism and protect media professionals through appropriate national mechanisms supporting a free and credible press.
