On Friday 29 May 2026, the WISEMED project, funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme, participated in the Innovation Village 2026 held at Villa Doria d’Angri in Naples (Italy), upon invitation from the SWAMED project, another initiative funded under the Specific Objective 2.3 of the Programme. The event provided an important opportunity for exchange and networking among Interreg NEXT MED projects and stakeholders working on water management and agricultural innovation.
Representatives of WISEMED joined a dedicated workshop on sustainable water management in agriculture. The session was also attended remotely by the other Interreg NEXT MED projects of the Specific Objective 2.3 projects, further extending the scope of the discussion. The workshop focused on identifying key challenges, needs and opportunities related to the sustainable management of water resources in agriculture, with a strong emphasis on cooperation and the sharing of practical solutions.
The exchange of experiences between projects proved particularly valuable, strengthening mutual understanding and fostering new ideas for addressing common water-related challenges across the Mediterranean region. The participation of WISEMED contributed to reinforcing synergies with other initiatives and highlighted the importance of cross-project collaboration in developing more effective and scalable solutions.
