The UfM Strategic Urban Development Action Plan 2040 offers a framework for integrated, sustainable urban development across the Euro-Mediterranean region by encouraging coordination of policy and action and by promoting partnerships around the planning and design of the built environment; by highlighting the role of the conservation of cultural heritage in urban regeneration and sustainable development; by promoting local empowerment and capacity building; by encouraging citizen engagement; and by supporting implementation and monitoring of urban and regional spatial interventions.
