The first session of the Algeria-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), held on 19 September in Algiers, concluded with the adoption of a joint declaration underlining the need to strengthen EU-Algeria relations in various areas of cooperation, including the energy transition, economic diversification and business upgrading.
Both parties welcomed the imminent adoption of joint priorities for the Algeria-EU partnership for the period 2021-2027. Discussions focused on the state of bilateral relations between the European Union in Algeria and their ongoing development through cooperation based on trust, mutual respect and common interests.
