The Deputy European Union Representative in Palestine Maria Velasco, along with a number of diplomats from EU Member States met with Adnan Ghaith, the Governor of Jerusalem. The group was briefed about the recent developments in East Jerusalem.
The Deputy EU Representative reiterated the longstanding and clear EU political position on East Jerusalem and EU support to the Palestinians living in the city. In addition, she welcomed the preparations of free and fair elections in the Palestinian areas, including in East Jerusalem.
