Opinion Poll 2018 (report)

This opinion poll has been designed to assess the current levels of awareness among the general public about EU support in the Southern Neighbourhood countries, as well as public attitudes towards, and perceptions of the European Union in these countries. A key focus of the study are the differences between the Maghreb and Mashrek groups of countries.

This study presents the results of the third wave of this survey, conducted in autumn 2018.

Areas covered by this survey include:

  • Perceptions of, and attitudes towards the European Union;
  • Awareness of financial support provided by the European Union, and the main areas of cooperation with the European Union;
  • Use of mainstream and Internet-based media, and the European Union’s media profile;
  • The general mood of respondents in Southern Neighbourhood countries, including their views on current and future economic, employment and general life situations.
