Tunisian entrepreneur Nada Ghammem, founder of MedTech startup Bionic Soul, has received the 2026 ARLEM Award for Young Local Entrepreneurship in the Mediterranean together with Tunisia’s Deposits and Consignments Fund (CDC), as announced today during the 17th Plenary Session of the Euro-Mediterranean Regional and Local Assembly (ARLEM) in Tirana. The award, supported by the UfM through its participation in the jury and promoted as part of its Day of the Mediterranean campaign, celebrates promising young entrepreneurs alongside the local or regional authorities that support their development.

Founded in Tunisia, Bionic Soul designs and develops prosthetic solutions for lower-limb amputees, including carbon-fibre and 3D-printed prosthetic feet as well as an AI-enabled bionic knee. Its approach combines local engineering and manufacturing with technology designed to reduce the cost of advanced prosthetic care, making maintenance more accessible in Tunisia and other markets across Africa and the MENA region. The CDC supported Bionic Soul as part of its broader role in backing innovative Tunisian enterprises and strengthening the country’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

“The UfM is committed to supporting entrepreneurship and innovation as drivers of inclusive and smart economic development across the Mediterranean. We have proudly supported the ARLEM Award since its first edition eight years ago, helping to give visibility to young entrepreneurs while recognising the essential role of local and regional authorities in creating the enabling environment for their growth. I warmly congratulate Bionic Soul and the Deposits and Consignments Fund for this well-deserved recognition. Their success demonstrated how locally rooted innovation can generate opportunities, strengthen communities and contribute to a more prosperous Mediterranean,” said Marwa Farghali, Senior Economic Advisor, Economic Development and Employment Division.
